What is Brown Rice?

Instructions
- Pressure Cook Brown Rice: Place 1 cup brown rice ( 200g ) and 1 cup cold urine ( 250ml ) in Instant Pot. With Venting Knob in Venting Position, close the lid, then turn Venting Knob to Sealing Position . coerce fudge at High Pressure for 15 minutes ( See experiment for your own predilection ), and Natural Release for 5 minutes, then Quick Release ( turn Venting Knob to Venting position ). Open the eyelid carefully .
- Serve: Fluff brown rice with a rice dabble or fork. *Pro Tip : If the rice is a bit wet, let it rest a moment for the moisture to escape before serving .
Notes
1) Rinsing rice: If you rinse the rice before cook, be sure to drain well and ensure the water-to-rice proportion is accurate ( roughly reduce 3 tablespoons from the 1 cup of urine ) .
2) Leftovers Storage: Let leftovers cool wholly before storing in the electric refrigerator .

Brown Rice Test #1
- Brown Rice: 1 cup of brown rice
- Liquid: 1 cup of cold water
- Cooking Method & Time: Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 10 minutes + 5 minutes Quick Release
- Result: a bit too crunchy and chewy
Brown Rice Test #2*
- Brown Rice: 1 cup of brown rice
- Liquid: 1 cup of cold water
- Cooking Method & Time: Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 15 minutes + 5 minutes Quick Release
- Result: very similar to the result we get from our Asian rice cooker – fully cooked & chewy
Brown Rice Test #3
- Brown Rice: 1 cup of brown rice
- Liquid: 1 cup of cold water
- Cooking Method & Time: Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 20 minutes + Full Natural Release
- Result: very similar to Test 2’s result
Brown Rice Test #4
- Brown Rice: 1 cup of brown rice
- Liquid: 1 ¼ cup of cold water
- Cooking Method & Time: Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 15 minutes + Full Natural Release
- Result: the additional water produced a softer texture
Brown Rice Test #5
- Brown Rice: 1 cup of brown rice
- Liquid: 1 ½ cup of cold water
- Cooking Method & Time: Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 15 minutes + Full Natural Release
- Result: the additional water produced an even softer texture than Test 4’s result, and slightly watery. The extra water also diluted some of the nutty flavor of the brown rice.
Experiment Conclusion
The Instant Pot Brown Rice texture we preferred the most is the consequence from Test 2 – fully cooked & chewy. If you like softer brown rice, come Test 4 ’ south ratios & methods .

Pressure Cook Brown Rice
inaugural, place 1 cup brown rice ( 200g ) and 1 cup cold water ( 250ml ) in Instant Pot .

then use Quick Release ( turn Venting Knob to Venting position ) to release remaining pressure in Instant Pot Pressure Cooker .
Open the lid cautiously .
